7/10/06 Another Blue One for Hoo Dini posted by Nicholas Froelich

Today was a good day to be on the water. The seas were beautiful, the weather was great, and the day was jam packed with excitment. We started off the day bailing some dolphin to insure dinner was in the boat. Then we decided to step it up, and headed to the deep in search of some gaffer dolphin. We found em, and had some beautiful mahi. Then a renegade Blue Marlin came up to eat and meant business. She made her initial pass at one teaser, destroying that, then switching to the other side to beat up on some more gear. She made a powerful swipe at a flat line, missing it but Capt. Pat put the boat into a perfect turn and raised her up from her grass bed yet again. However this time she was after a dolphin we had on a TLD-25. She made one slash at the fish and then inhaled it. She cooperated well and came right to the boat allowing me to get the leader grab and make her a legal release. She then proceeded to dump the 25 and show herself once with an outstanding jump that allowed her to give us our dolphin back. Congratulations Tom. Pretty work.
