Back to work

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  Well it sure has been a long winter but it is time to go back to work for all of us hear at Sharkys.  I’ve been up hear at the store for about a week now getting things ready for the season putting up new stock, folding all the new tee shirts, and removing 4 1/2 months of dust on everything.

As far as the fishing right now I would call it a mixed bag.  Surf fisherman are catching dog sharks, skates, croaker, puppy drum, and a scattered big bluefish.  We ran a 1/2 day charter on friday with Wendel and Karen Lewis from Kentucky, and caught 12 big bluefish and all the dogsharks they could handle.   Boats running offshore have been catching both bluefin and yellowfin tunas.  The water temperature at the Duck Pier is 50.2.  There is a low tide at 11:25am and a high tide at 5:24 pm.

Good Luck,

Chris at Sharkys

CAN’T WAIT

Today is Feburary 12th and I am sitting in the house with cabin fever.  Spring is coming though.  It  wont be long till we will be hitting the beach for the spring run of trout and drum.  For now we have to take what the winter gives us.  If you can get offshore you should produce a good catch of tuna,  and inshore trips have produced some stripers.   Most of the stripers have been hanging out off of Corolla so a full day trip is as needed to get to them.  Hopefully we will have a few cold days so we can get them on a half day trip.  Thank you to all of you that came out to see us at the Eastern Sportsman Show in Harrisburg PA.  We enjoyed talking to all of you and look forward to hearing from you.   June is starting to book up but we still have boats available every day.  Any one wanting to fish in June may want to make reservations soon.

Good Luck,

Chris at Sharky’s
