We finally got a break on the weather today for this fun group of Ohio friends. They had some good striped bass fishing with Captain George on the Instigator at Mann's Harbor with 10 keepers!! If you are interested in doing some Rock Fishing (striped bass) the season is here right now!
Capt. Frank and Mate Rachel on Wild Card decided that the ocean was going to be a bit rough for their charter with the family crew from Winchester, VA. (Corey, Ashley, Chase & Tyler Hobbs as well as Golda Bryant). It was a wise and a lot more comfortable decision to stay in the Sound because the wind and seas were kicking pretty good. The result was a catch of pretty nice sized Spanish mackerel and bluefish. These were returning folks fished from a couple years back and the boys have obviously done some growing since then. Hope you will continue to enjoy the Outer Banks for years to come and of course fishing on Wild Card!

Good action and beautiful weather today, thanks guys! Message from Captain Troy, "Fall is fast approaching and it’s a great time of the year to go fishing on the Outer Banks. Get your group together and come out and enjoy some of it."

One of the great aspects of this job is getting to see the young anglers enjoy their first fishing trip on the ocean. The smiles and look of contentment tell the story that will be etched in their minds for years to come. The Thoreson family from Orono MN enjoyed a spectacular near shore charter trip catching Spanish mackerel on Sea Hag. The inshore/near shore fishing has been great this summer and right now while the weather is awesome is the perfect time to take your kids out on a fishing charter they'll be talking about for several years to come.

Sometimes the unpredictable Outer Banks weather throws us a curveball! That absolutely did not stop this fantastic group of friends from Ohio from having fun! Mike, Bill, Danny, Dom, Anthony and Cody had planned on doing the 3/4 Day Intermediate Charter on the Instigator. Capt. George suggested they knock it down to a 1/2 Day Near Shore Charter due to the strong winds and rough surf. We want our customers to have fun and not get beat up out on the ocean! The guys agreed and had a blast catching a little over 40 Spanish Mackerel. I hear they grilled them up for dinner and loved them! We had an amazing time with you all. We can't wait to fish with you again the next time you are in town. Thanks for being such a great group!
What a great time we had fishing with this fun family from Baltimore! Thanks again for fishing with us, and we hope to see you again next summer!

Come back and fish with us anytime!
Guess who found the "motherload" of Spanish mackerel just outside Oregon Inlet on a Sea Hag mid-day charter? The Berge Family all the way from Gering, Nebraska, that's who! Capt. The afternoon trip was all sunshine and wind and plenty more of good eating Spanish mackerel. From all reports the Spanish mackerel fishing this season has been spectacular with larger average fish then in past years. It's a great opportunity for Outer Banks visitors to get the entire family out to enjoy our sunshine on a near shore charter.
Sometimes we'll get charter requests from large family groups that require more boats then a typical six pack charter. This group required three boats. Marauder, Carolina Style and Sea Hag each took a part of this large near shore charter group. These pictures were from Capt. Troy on Marauder as they enjoyed non-stop action on the Spanish mackerel and bluefish.
Capt. Troy sent a special thank you to Tony and his crew for a great day of fishing on Marauder. They were able to haul in several amberjack, a couple of big blue runners, a few spanish mackerel (one was a 6 pound citation!), a limit of king mackerel, a 30 pound cobia and all of the false albacore they wanted to reel in. With over 25 years of experience the action is typically hot on a Marauder near shore charter. Call us and give it a try.
Mark Clippinger, our surf fishing guide, caught this nice 20" striped bass Monday evening. Beautiful night for some surf fishing!
Half day near shore charters normally target spanish mackerel and bluefish. But when conditions are just right our boats will spot fish like cobia or king mackerel as an added bonus. Maruader specializes in near shore fishing charters and is known around here as a master of cobia fishing. By the way, Marauder holds the state record cobia in NC. Happy Birthday Jessica!
Capt. Troy on Maruader fished this holiday weekend with Dave, Janet, Clockman and Clock Jr. The group managed a nice handful of mahi and had plenty of action on a really beautiful day to be on the ocean.
