Special thank you to Chris Jensen for sending us these pictures from their 8/16 offshore charter on Sea Hag.
Congratulations to The Salty Hookers for a great day on the water with Sea Hag during the Alice Kelly Tournament.
Kevin (NC), Michael (DC), Darrell and his son (PA) braved the rough water on Saturday for their Full Day Offshore Charter. It was worth it for their nice haul of yellow fin tuna. Thank you fellas for driving in for this charter, and we look forward to seeing you again!
Austin, Eric, Kevin, Kira and Susan from Colorado had an awesome trip on Saturday with Capt. Hunter and first mate Jay! It was a beautiful day on the ocean, and they had a nice catch of Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel and Ribbonfish. Y’all were a pleasure to work with from start to finish, and we hope to fish with you again the next time you visit the OBX!
Remi, hailing from Maryland, booked a surf fishing clinic with our resident expert, Mark Clippinger. What a great day of fishing. In addition to some nice Sea Mullet, Remi pulled in this shark. Be sure and take advantage of our 2 hour Surf Fishing Clinic and learn the tips and tricks of OBX beach fishing!
Carolina Style had a midday trip with Valerie and her crew from PA. They headed straight back to where they had a morning bite of albacore and had left them biting. The Captain reported it was one of the largest schools of albacore he had ever seen and the crew made short work of it and were back at the dock in short order. Schedule an Outer Banks near shore charter with Sharky's on Carolina Style or any of our other fine boats running out of Oregon Inlet.
Wild Card had quite a memorable offshore charter starting out with a double sailfish bite and caught both fish. Then they got a double yellowfin tuna bite and caught both of them also. Then another sailfish. Since the weather was much tougher than the weatherman called for, their crew was ready to call it a day early. On the trip back in they flew the three sailfish flags plus a “special” flag on top from a man named Carl Griffith. Carl caught his very first sailfish with Wild Card a few years back. Carl passed away this past year and his wife sent the signed flag along with a thank you note earlier this Spring. Well Wild Card flew Carl’s flag in his honor today! You never know what a day will hold in the memory making business that we are in!
Wild Card had a very productive offshore charter trip with April, Bryan & Chase Etnoyer, Braden & Jarod Miller and Mike Shultz from PA and NJ catching some nice big blue line tilefish. After catching these good eating fish Capt. Frank reported nothing was happening on the trolling bite so it was a wise choice to start out bottom fishing. We hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here on the Outer Banks and enjoy those fresh fillets!
Fishing with families is one of our favorite things to do, and being a part of, sometimes, a child's first fishing experience is an honor. These families had a great time fishing with Capt. Brian on the Reelistic.
These monsters were caught on the Reelistic with Capt Brian on the Inshore Pamlico Sound Charters!
The Weber family had a blast with Capt John on the Carolina Style on their 1/2 Day Nearshore Charter. Thanks for fishing with us, and we hope to see you again next year!
Pamlico Sound Fishing with Capt. Tom on the Wet Kitty has been fun this Summer!
Here’s three happy guys who fished with Capt. Brian on the Reelistic recently! One group had a nice haul of speckled trout, and check out that 30” speckled trout!
Wild Card had a great offshore charter trip with a family/friend group from Florida, Virginia, New Jersey and New York. The plan was for some deep drop blue line tilefish and then seeing what they could get on the troll. The tiles were a very healthy class of fish and they got a caught a couple mahi and skipjack tuna. But where we found the tuna and mahi was in the middle of a huge nest of sharks. The sharks pretty much cleaned out everything they hooked. I know some say sharks are endangered but certainly not here on the Outer Banks.
The Girard and Grappone families from New Hampshire managed to squeeze in some great fishing between a tropical storm and a nor’easter with Hayden Express!
Josh, from PA, caught this nice 24" Striper this morning!
Capt. Frank reported that he had eager green crew that figured “it” out and got the job done. He ran a makeup charter trip with anglers from NC, NY and VA. Everyone had a great time catching plenty of mahi.
Fishing was slow again tday but the Austin family from Rocky Mount VA had a great time catching skipjacks and king mackerel.
What could be more fun for a bachelor party for these young men from Michigan than catching fish offshore on Wild Card?
Brian Hoblitzell and his group had great fishing today hauling in a limit of king mackerel and albies.
Hayden from West Virginia caught her first cobia while fishing with her mom and dad on Sea Hag.
Sea Hag had to adjust their strategy but had fun with a couple of nice black drum and false albacore.
Young Eloise from Boston, Mass. went on her first ever fishing trip today with her parents and Capt. Frank on Sea Hag. We sure hope that her and her parents had as much fun as we did and will be back to brighten up our boat again sometime in the future.
Wild Card ran an offshore charter with a crew from PA. It was a beautiful ride out but breezy in the hot water. They left the fleet and ended up fishing a long ways down South and found what looked like great water/temp break/color change .... BUT crickets! Ended up fishing back up to the North and finally found some willing yellowfin tuna.
What a beautiful morning to learn the "ins and outs" of surf fishing. This is Mike and Owen from NY enjoying the day and the salty air.
Capt. Wild Card Frank had an offshore walk-on make-up trip today. He reported that it seemed like it was uphill both ways with pretty choppy seas coming and going. However they had fairly steady fishing once they got into the groove with four yellowfin tuna, four blackfin tuna and a nice bonus wahoo. Cpt. said he felt that the way the wind had pushed the hot water off the last couple days they did well.
Sharky's would like to thank our customers for making 2020 another record setting season! From the entire team at Sharky's ...... wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
